1975

July

Bowie travels to New Mexico by train to start filming 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'. Bowie stays in Albuquerque and spends his time writing short stories and doing some interviews with Rolling Stone, Creem and The Sunday Times.

August

'Fame' released as a single in the US and reaches No. 1 - his first US No.1. Bowie travels back to Los Angeles by train to start work on 'Station To Station' after filming finishes on August 24th.

September

Recording the 'Station To Station' album at Cherokee Studios in Hollywood.

RCA re-release 'Space Oddity' as a single in the UK on September 26th to cash in on the success of 'Fame'. It goes to No. 1 giving him his first UK No. 1 single.

October

Recording the 'Station To Station' album.

November

Bowie appears on the 'Soul Train' TV show singing 'Fame' and Golden Years' on November 4th. 'Space Oddity' reaches No. 1 in the UK on November 7th.

On November 17th 'Golden Years' is released as single.

On November 23rd Bowie appears on The Cher Show singing 'Fame' and then a unique medley of R+B songs and new material as a duet.

Bowie appears on the Russell Harty Show in a satellite link to announce he will be coming back to Europe the following spring.

December

With the 'Station To Station' album completed Bowie works on what he plans to be the soundtrack album for 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'.

1977

January

The 'Low' album is released on 14th January.

February

'Sound And Vision' is released as a single on 11th February.

March

Bowie is on tour with Iggy Pop to promote 'The Idiot' and plays piano in the band. 'China Girl' is released as a single and the album is released on March 18th.

April

Bowie and Iggy Pop appear on the Dinah Shore Show and perform 'Sister Midnight' and 'Funtime'.

At the end of the America tour they return to Berlin.

May

Bowie and Iggy start work on the 'Lust For Life' album.

June

'Be My Wife' is released as a single on 17th June. Bowie and Tony Visconti start work on the 'Heroes' album in Berlin.

1976

January

Rehearsals for the tour continue in Jamaica and New York.

Bowie sings 'Stay' and 'Five Years' on the Dinah Shore Show on 3rd January.

On January 23rd the 'Station To Station' LP is released; a last-minute change gives it a black and white cover to fit with the new tour image.

February

The North American tour starts in Vancouver on February 2nd.

March

'The Man Who Fell To Earth' film premieres in London on March 18th.

On March 21st Bowie and several others are arrested in Rochester in suspicion of marijuana possession.

On 23rd March Bowie plays a show in Uniondale which is broadcast on national radio and is later released in a 'Station To Station' repackage.

April

Bowie arrives in Germany after sailing from America to France and visiting Moscow by train. The first show of the European tour is in Munich on April 7th.

'TVC 15' is released as a single on April 30th.

May

On May 2nd Bowie arrives back in the UK after taking the ferry from France. He plays 5 shows at Wembley Arena and then the tour finishes in Paris on April 18th.

'ChangesOneBowie' is released on 20th May; Bowie's first Greatest Hits album.

June

After setting up his new home in Switzerland Bowie and Iggy Pop leave for France where they will start work on Iggy's 'The Idiot' album.

July

'Suffragette City' is released as a single in the UK to promote the 'ChangesOneBowie' Greatest Hits album.

August

Bowie and Iggy Pop travel to Munich and then Berlin to finish work on 'The Idiot'.

September

Bowie starts work in France on the 'Low' album with Tony Visconti.

October

Bowie and Brian Eno continue work on 'Low' in Berlin.

November

The production of the 'Low' album is finished but RCA won't release it for Christmas.

December

Bowie is awarded 'Best Actor' for his role in 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' by the US Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.
