Some time in the late 1980s I spent a day at the offices of ‘Melody Maker’ in London looking through hundreds of yellowing copies of their weekly paper for references to some obscure Bowie event or quote and then copying it out by hand.
Now I can just search the Internet in a couple of seconds and find a YouTube link for a 5-minute slot broadcast 40 years ago and ‘Melody Maker’ is long gone and forgotten with all the other music papers. The information is easier to find but that doesn’t mean the quality has improved in line with the quantity. There are some very good websites where fans talk in great detail about Bowie albums and you can find a list of those in the ‘Useful Links’ section.
